The other method was taking too long. This is basically a refined sketch with minimal colours thrown on with an overlay layer. All the solid bluey-blacks look quite nice when printed out =]
Nice work! These are really good, your panel layouts and the compositions of each panel are really nice. Do you have any advice on comic panelling or any good books youv'e read? Or is it just talent/instinct. Be good if you finish them anyway, the story seems interesting so far, why is he ill ? Like the style of the faces too, capture the essence of the actors well but still has a strong style about it.
I have absolutely no advice and this is my first comic ever. I'm not really messing with vertical panels or panels that reach the end of the page I'm just sticking to plain old squares @_@
Composition wise, I just imagine each panel as a little bit of art. And I try to balance it so the panels aren't too black or too white. That's it really.
Thank you! You can read the pages I've done in the 'comic' folder of my gallery =]
waaaahhh, love the subtle, nuanced coloring/shading going on. I'm also digging the way you've done the profile view of their faces...but, of course, the overall aesthetic (stylized enough, while retaining everything that defines these two characters) is fantastic!! And that last line..."so...ASSIST." XD excellent delivery, my friend.
Thanks very much! I definitely want to keep it simple and stylised otherwise it would take too long to draw, but I'm glad they're so recognisible to you
